Oskar Blues Brewing Company

Introduction: Oskar Blues Brewery is located in Longmont, Colorado - east of the original OB Brew Pub and Grill in Lyons, Colorado. Oskar Blues Brewery cans craft-brewed beer. The brewery is owned by Dale Katechis. Dale owns "Oskar Blues Homemade Liquids and Solids" Restaurant in Longmont, Colorado in addition to the Brewery and Brew Pub and Grill in Lyons, Colorado. A new Brewery has recently opened in Brevard, North Carolina.

Oskar Blues Brew and Grill opened in 1997. Oskar Blues launched the canning operation in a 60-year-old barn next door to the pub in the fall of 2002. They were the first American Craft Brewery to brew and can their beer; today over 150 craft breweries are doing it. The original crew used a hand-canning line on a table-top machine that sealed one can at a time. Oskar Blues Brewery in Longmont packaged 41,000 barrels in 2010 and grew to 59,000 in 2011.
