Burton's Biscuit Company
Introduction: Burton's Biscuit Company is a United Kingdom biscuit manufacturer.
The company was formed from the merger of Burton's Gold Medal Biscuits and Horizon Biscuit Company in October 2000, and re-branded from Burton's Foods to Burton's Biscuit Company in November 2011. It employs over 2,200 people around the UK, in three main manufacturing facilities, in Llantarnam, Edinburgh and Blackpool, a chocolate refinery in Moreton, and a central distribution hub in Liverpool. Its head office is based in St Albans.
Burton's is the UK's number two biscuit maker and many of its products are sold around the world.
We’re the only major biscuit manufacturer in the UK to focus solely on biscuits and this dedication has helped us become one of the key players in the market. We employ over 2,200 people around the UK, in three main manufacturing facilities in Llantarnam, Edinburgh and Blackpool, a chocolate refinery in Moreton and central distribution hub in Liverpool. Our head office is based in St. Albans and a subsidiary office is located in Blackpool.
Since 2009 the company has been owned by CIBC and Apollo Global Management, and in recent years it has adapted to the demands of a challenging economic climate to become a much more efficient and agile organisation.
Our forward-thinking strategy has led to some impressive results. Burton’s Biscuit Company has delivered against its financial expectations over the past few years, achieving annual sales of over £340 million and continuing to grow our market share quarter after quarter. We were also recently awarded the prestigious IGD Business Transformation award (October 2011) for our fresh ideas on how to take the business forward in what remains a challenging economic market.
