The HACCP system is based on a firm foundation of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Sanitation Operating Procedures (SOPs) to maintain a high level of hygiene in the processing plant.
Currently, our products are exported to more than 20 countries. Lake Bounty is poised for growth and has major expansion and diversification plans to achieve its short and long terms goals. The Group has augmented its production capacity at two of its sister concerns, Victoria Perch Ltd. at Mwanza, Tanzania and Lake Eco Fish Processing Ltd. at Entebbe, Uganda, processing 50 tons and 30 tons per day, respectively. Recently, Lake Bounty expanded its footprint in the Middle East and building awareness in the United States by displaying variety of products at the 2013 International Boston Seafood Show.
Lake Victoria, the world’s second largest and most productive fresh water body is the major source of our raw material. Our primary raw material is Nile Perch (Lates niloticus) or Lake Victoria Perch. Owing to its culinary and nutritional qualities, Nile Perch has become a perfect option to bridge the gap caused by the declining stock of “traditional” white fish.
Nile Perch offers many advantages over other fish species which include:
Originates from a fresh water body (Lake Victoria) under purely natural fresh lake environments
Wild catch, which is the inspiration for our tagline "Fresh from the wilds of Lake Victoria". All natural and no chemicals
Firm white flesh compared to other species
No known species-related hazards including parasitic infestation
Abundance of Omega 3 & 6 polyunsaturated fatty acids to help reduce cholesterol levels and promote good health
Nile Perch is often described as "a chef's delight" as it lends itself to creative expression in terms of culinary art
High oil content makes it great for grillingon the BBQ and for smoking
