Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation Peru

Introduction: The Ministry of Agriculture was created by Law No. 9711, issued on 31 December 1942, during the government of President, Dr. Manuel Prado Ugarteche and in a context of global conflict since World War II happening.

As part of the creation of the Ministry of Agriculture were created also the Departments of Agriculture, Water and Irrigation, Settlement and National Power.

President Prado Ugarteche ruled by the Act to authorize appropriations for opening the duration of the portfolio and that the Executive ensure the functioning of the various departments of the Ministry and its Sections, "indispensable to the study of problems of the Costa, Sierra and Mountain, according to the needs of the various regions of the country ", as required by law verbatim.

On January 2, 1943 was signed Law 9711, the year after its creation, and was published in the official gazette El Peruano on February 26, 1943.

The new Ministry of Agriculture takes office on June 1, 1943, and its Prime Minister Mr. Benjamin Roca García.
